Description A long length of white cotton, hand-knitted lace. One edge is straight while the other has a repeated triangular pattern. The knitted pattern has a double openwork row of repeated little squares, and three rows knitted lace that looks like repeated laurel? leaves? (not quite chevrons)
Provenance It formerly belonged to Mrs. Gideon Carrie. Mrs. Carrie's husband, Gideon, was 42 years old in the 1871 census of Sydenham Township, Grey County. Mrs. Carrie's maiden name was _______. The item was passed down to her daughter, Mrs. John McQuaker of Owen Sound, Grey County, and her daughter, Mrs. Frank W. Smith.
