Description All-brass, small-sized mortar and pestle set that would have been used by a druggist or someone who needed to grind up small quantities of herbs, etc. The mortar is round. It is so small that only a small quantity could be ground in it. The exterior of the mortar has impressed / engraved decoration. More research is needed to determine its origin (the decoration looks like it might have been made in India the Middle East)

Provenance Unknown manufacturer and provenance. Last owned by Roland Ellinghausen (b. 1910 - d. 1981), an Owen Sound druggist.
