Description White ceramic drainer or strainer (possibly for dairy work). It is somewhat funnel-like in its shape. The funnel area is 6 cm deep and the bottom of it has multiple perforations for draining liquids. Glazed white stoneware item. The underside has a cylindrical spout (10.5 cm) that ends in an angled opening. There is a transfer-printed arrow and some wording that might be a maker's mark (Germany?). The hopper area has a multi-perforated bottom that sieves.

Provenance The origin of this item is unknown, but perhaps was made in Germany. Provenance unknown. It is likely a farm-related item. Mr. and Mrs. John Pipher have had it in the woodshed of their property at 337 Mill St., Feversham, Grey County. since they moved there in 1971.
