Description An ornate cast brass two-tier parlour stand. It has two brass shelves, both of which are cast with extensive leaf and scroll designs. The four feet are continuations of the four curving and decoratively-cast posts that hold the two shelves. There is no maker's identification present on the piece itself.
Makers mark Mr. Cashore did not place his name or a logo on the piece itself.
Provenance Cast in Owen Sound, Grey County, by Colin G. Cashore. He had his own foundry, which was located near the Empire Stove works on the east side of Owen Sound harbour. It is a 20th-century piece, and pre-dates 1941, which was about the time Mr. Cashore became a factory inspector instead of moulder.
