This doily originally belonged to Helen Carrie (neé Reid, m. Gideon Carrie). The Carries lived on the Sydenham and Holland Township townline area of Grey County in the 19th-century.
Mrs. Carrie's husband, Gideon, was 42 years old in the 1871 census of Sydenham Township, Grey County.
It later belonged to Agnes Smith, who was formerly Agnes McQuaker, a daughter of John McQuaker and a former Ms. Carrie.
