Description CHAMPION SPARK PLUGS shelf sign. This small metal sign is narrowly rectangular, with a sizable width and a short length. The front of the sign is printed or enamelled with a dark blue background, and there is embossed yellow lettering that reads "CHAMPION SPARK PLUGS". The back of the sign is a plain blue colour, with streaks of what appears to be white paint.


Provenance Owned by and used at the Dornoch, Grey County garage owned by J. Leonard Walsh. J. Leonard Walsh operated his garage at Dornoch, Ontario in the 1930s and 1940s. He was an Imperial Oil representative, starting in the 1920s.

Passed to his nephew, Patrick Sweeney, who used to assist his uncle in the garage.
