Description W & B Co. agricultural wrench, 1920s. This adjustable wrench has a dark-stained wooden handle. The upper, metal part of the wrench appears quite bulky and rough-hewn. A knurled, metal cylinder attached to a threaded rod is used to adjust the width of the jaw. "MADE IN CANADA" is engraved on the side.
Makers mark W & B Co.
Provenance Belonged to J. Leonard Walsh, who owned an Imperial Oil garage in Dornoch, Grey County, starting in the 1920s. Passed to his nephew, Patrick Sweeney, who later worked with him in the garage. James Leonard Walsh died on June 5, 1986, in his 92nd year. He is buried at St. Paul's Cemetery in Grey County.
