Description Carved and painted wooden figural effigy of Rebecca (Beckie) Waterton by John J. Landen Sr. She is depicted sitting in a rocking chair as a senior woman with her hair pulled back into a bun, wearing a long pink dress and glasses with her hands clasped in her lap. "John Landen 1971" is carved into the back and "Beckie" we say thank you - museum staff" is painted on the back of the riser in white paint.
Provenance Made by John J. Landen, and presented to Beckie Waterton at Christmas (presumably as a gift) in 1971 for her volunteer service with the County of Grey-Owen Sound Museum. She was also known as Rebecca Waterton (wife of Jack Waterton).
