Description Dark-bordered floral ceramic soup plate. It is one of a set of seven soup plates. There were also some matching dinner plates given (see RELATED). It is 25.2 cm in diameter. Brown or black border at rim. Pink flowers and smaller yellow/blue ones are incorporated into the border design. The centre is decorated with a large floral grouping (pink, purple, yellow, blue, green) in the foreground, with a house/gazebo pictured in the background. Cream glazed. "20" impressed on base. No maker's identification.
Provenance This item appears to be from the 19th-century (part of a set). Its country of origin needs to be researched yet.

The previous owner, Mildred Thompson (née Halliday), is descended from the Charles Howell family of Owen Sound, Grey County (on her maternal side). In 1962, she resided at RR.#3, Chatsworth, Sullivan Township, Grey County.
