|Description||Dark-bordered floral ceramic dinner plate, that likely pre-dates the 1890s. Dark-brown or black border at rim. Pink flowers and smaller yellow / blue ones are incorporated into the border design. The centre is decorated with a large floral grouping (pink, purple, yellow, blue, green) in the foreground, with a house/gazebo pictured in the background. Cream glazed. "20" impressed on base. No maker's identification.|
This appears to be from the 19th-century (part of a set). Its country of origin needs to be researched.
The previous owner, Mildred Thompson (nee Halliday), is descended from the Charles Howell family of Owen Sound, Ontario (on her maternal side). In 1962, she resided at RR.#3, Chatsworth, Sullivan Township, Grey County.
