Description Child's petticoat made of medium-weight white cotton fabric, machine-sewn. Waistband has five buttonholes, possibly for fastening to a camisole/waist piece? There is a central back opening, without fastenings. The petticoat has six horizontal tucks for decoration. The petticoat falls in tiny gathers from the waistband. There is a deep crocheted trim at the bottom of the hem. This trim has circular motifs in it.
Provenance Previously owned by Mrs. Temple Day, who resided in the Annan area of Sydenham Township, Grey County. The same accession includes a circa 1883 little boy's woolen dress. Perhaps this petticoat may have been worn with it.
