Embroidered baby's cape made of ecru cotton. All edges are scalloped and edged with gold embroidery. Gathered hood is lined with shiny fabric and decorated with wavy gold embroidery. Cape proper is quilted in a diamond pattern. Machine stitched. There is a scalloped perimeter.
The donor said that it is made of nun veiling fabric, also called viyella??
Original provenance unknown. Formerly belonged to Mrs. J. G. Parsons of Goderich, Ontario and then to Mrs. W. P. Telford, her grand-daughter.
