Description Needlepointed, fringed insert for a dress yoke. This item, meant to be at the front of a lady's dress bodice, is triangular in shape. It has long fringing, with gold-coloured threads. The center has a petit point decoration. It is 7.5 cm in diameter. There is a floral roses design worked on black fabric. The central medallion is inset amidst gold metallic thread tape lace. There is also metallic thread fillings (likely needleworked) in the tape lace area. On the underside, attached with an old type of staple, is a maker's tag which reads "The Gem / Wm. T. L-e & Sons, Limited / Established 1889."
Provenance Original provenance unknown. Previously owned by Isabel Lee (neƩ Masson) of Owen Sound, Grey County. Found amidst her and her husband (Charles Lee)'s estate items.
