Description Brass laundry tags (B) and their holder (A). Item bears the stamp "Patented July 22, 1924" on the front of the holder.
A. Holder: Perforated with 17 holes (in two sizes) around the edge, and also has a hanging hole. Brass item. Embossed with "111". The maker's mark is shield-shaped and stamped.
B. 3 tags: All of the tags are also embossed with "111".
Makers mark The item is stamped with a Keyes-Davis Co., Battlecreek. Michigan shield-shaped mark. It is also stamped with "Patented July 22, 1924" on the front of the holder.
Provenance Manufactured by Keyes-Davis Co. of Battlecreek, Michigan. Patented on July 22, 1924. Item belonged to and was used by the Owenholme Laundry, which was located at 1025, 3rd Avenue East, Owen Sound, Grey County until circa 1979. Item was last owned by Ken MacIntosh of Owen Sound, Grey County.
