|Description||McQUAY-NORRIS combination compression and vacuum tester for a garage. This item has a grey, metal exterior shell and a circular glass face. Extending from the cylindrical gauge are a hexagonal metal rod ending in a plastic cone and a rubber hose-like part. The face of the gauge is white, with black text for compression readings and red text for vacuum readings. There are also two separate hands, one red and one black, for the separate readings. This item was made by McQuay-Norris, Toronto, Ontario.|
Owned by and used at the Dornoch, Grey County garage owned by J. Leonard Walsh. J. Leonard Walsh operated his garage at Dornoch, Ontario in the 1930s and 1940s. He was an Imperial Oil representative, starting in the 1920s.
Passed to his nephew, Patrick Sweeney, who used to assist his uncle in the garage.
