Description Small round (almost flat) black bonnet covered in black lace. It has a metal frame which can be felt inside its covering. The top is covered with black lace of floral braiding on a honeycomb net background. A second flap of lace with a pointed scalloped edge is attached to the back. Also at the back is a large black bow of corduroy cotton. The inside is lined with black silk. Sewn at the edge of this lining are ties matching the bow. About halfway back from the front of the bonnet, there is a wavy double row of small jet beads just inside the edge. On top, there is a row of jet beads to which are attached small open metal leaves. There are two long, black ribbon ties to secure under the wearer's chin.
