Description Circular WHITE ROSE gasoline sign. This metal sign hangs on two hardware pieces inside the curved pole top. The background of the sign is white-painted, as is the pole. The sign is double-sided, and has the wording "WHITE / ROSE" in curving red letters around a circular yellow background for a white and green rose motif. The pole has a squarish base that has been installed on a cement platform.
Provenance The Bluewater Branch of the Antique & Classic Car Club of Canada purchased this sign in 1992 for $200 and gave it to the County of Grey-Owen Sound Museum in order to add to the Bluewater Garage display. It is not known where it was purchased. It was likely used somewhere in Ontario.
Owen Sound, Meaford and Holland Centre all had White Rose stations in the past.
