Description McCormick Deering FARMALL tractor, 1934. This F-12 type FARMALL tractor was once painted red. All four wheels are of a cast iron construction. The two large rear traction wheels are covered at the top by sheet metal hoods. The rear wheels have 8 exterior and 8 interior spokes arranged alternately. The spokes are of iron straps held by nuts and bolts to the iron rim. Around the outside of the iron rim, placed alternately to the spokes, are iron cleats of iron straps that are bent to a point, then bolted to the rim. The hub is held with 2 large iron clamps which are welded to the corrugated disk which holds the spokes. The seat is spring-mounted onto the housing for the transmission gears. The seat is made of moulded sheet metal with holes drilled around the edge to attach a fabric cushion. The steering wheel is cast iron with three center spokes. The wheel is covering with a hard rubber hand grip. At the top of the wheel is a bracket with a wooden knob. The steering wheel is attached to the steering column by a large nut. Below the steering wheel is a steel rod stick shift, set into the transmission housing. On the rear axle covering is "3000 DB" and a monogram. The crank case is solid bolted to the frame channels. Below the seat is a cast iron strap rear step and spring draw bar. At the bottom right of the seat is a foot brake of iron straps and cloth padding. In front of the seat on the right and left are three iron levers. Immediately in front of the steering wheel is the tin gas tank, oblong with rounded edges. It has a tag on the end in front of the steering column. On the top of the tank is a round gas cap fastened to the tank by a safety chain. At the front left of the hood in front of the gas tank, is the exhaust pipe, which rises 37 cm above the hood. The side of the gas tank has painted lettering for McCormick-Deering FARMALL made by INTERNATIONAL Chicago, U.S.A. The engine is a four cylinder one with spark plugs and glass for viewing. On the front right is the air filter. On the front is an aluminum plate marked Model D-50 INTERNATIONAL AIR FILTER and some more text. On the opposite side is an orange-coloured magneto (which has been replaced). The clutch is a replacement. The cleaner between the front wheels was added by the previous owner.
