Man's black-coloured, brushed velvet top hat with black corrugated ribbon around the base of the stack. The ribbon is held by a small black buckle on the proper right side. The ribbon extends beyond the buckle by about 4cm. The structure seems to be made of cardboard or a similar material.
Original provenance/maker unknown. Belonged to Donald "Dan" McCallum of Derby Township, Grey County who reportedly wore it on his wedding day in 1868.
Later owned by Rebecca Waterton (neé McNabb), of Sullivan Township, Grey County.
