Description Token, Montreal, Agriculture & Commerce Canada. Un Sous is on one side. This is a penny (un sous) bank token. The edges are not knurled. One side has "TOKEN", "UN SOU" (with a wreath around it) and "MONTREAL". The other side has a bouquet of grain motif and what looks like "SV...AGRICULTURE 7 COMMIER CANADA"
Provenance This token pre-dates the 1850s change-over to decimal currency in the Canadas. The Bank of Montreal issued various bank tokens.

Provenance until owned by Dr. G. E. Sands is unknown.
