Description One wool picture in a wood and glass shadowbox. Picture depicts two yellow birds (gold finches?) sitting on a green branch. The right bird has a black collar. From top left going clockwise flowers are: One long white garland type branch with white buds, three white tulips, two red flowers (one with petals open), one white flower, one pink and white flower, one white flowers, one large purple flower and eight buds interspersed between flowers. Inside sides and backing is of black velvet? Frame is two tone - dark brown on outer edge and golden on inner. Brown has raised floral motif and golden has chain pattern.
Provenance The woolwork picture was made by Alberta J. H. Rogers (née Long) of Woodford, Sydenham Township, Grey County. Alberta was a daughter of Adam Long of St. Vincent Township. The Longs were early settlers in Grey County. The work was done about 1882.
