Previously owned by Mrs. Howard Bumstead, who resided at Owen Sound, Ontario in the 1950s.
The precise date of this hat is not known, but it is likely c. 1900, as boater straw hats were very popular then. Both women and men wore them. It is not known who originally wore this hat. Its deep crown suggests the early 20th-century.
