Description Circular hand fan. Ivory coloured cloth fan and handles (material covering wood handles). Handles have rounded steel tips.
Provenance Circular folding hand fans were very prevalent in the late 19th-century.

Owned and used by Mary Ann "Minnie" Givens (neƩ McKay, 1871 - 1950) and James Givens in their farm home at Massie about 1900.

As circular fans were very popular in the 1880s, perhaps the fan had belonged to her mother before Minnie used it?

Subsequently owned by their daughter Jean Givens (b. 1899-d.1991), who resided in Owen Sound, Grey County after she married W. G. (Bud) Reid. Her parents are buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
