Description A flat, rectangular, heavily transparent glass-beaded item (wall hanging?) with a beaded Dove of Peace? motif on orange textile ground and a crocheted hanging loop. There is a cardboard backing and natural linen used on/for the underside. "Mrs. Sinclair 1875" was noted on the back, but is no longer extant as of 1993. On the back is written $1.00 in ink, probably reflecting that it was made for and sold as a tourist item or souvenir. Consistent with Iroquois beadwork in style, motifs used and complexity.
Provenance This item belonged to a Mrs. Sinclair, circa 1875. Subsequently owned by Nellie Porter (née Sinclair). Mr. Herb Porter's family was the Isaac Porter family of Lot 16, Concession 10, St. Vincent Township.
