|Description||This black purse is made of silk that has a velvet stripe woven through it. The bottom portion of the bag is round and has a black tassel hanging from it. The top of the purse is framed with a polished metal-hinged frame. The clasp is composed of two knobs one on either side of the frame that slide past each other. At either end of the top portion of the frame is a bracket that holds a chain handle. The purse is lined with satin.|
Provenance unknown. Likely belonged to one of the Spragge sisters (Marjorie or Doris) of Owen Sound, Grey County.
Found amongst their estate items. Their family lived on 3rd Avenue East, Owen Sound, Grey County. Their father was an Owen Sound grocer.
