Description This is a glass bottle/jar of Methylgru, made in Leipzig and used for medical microscopy. There is a screw-top metal lid, that has a petalled flower motif centrally, and some lettering impressed in the top side. The bottle has a stained and darkened printed paper label re the chemical laboratory it came from. Underneath it is a serrated-edged red and white label showing that the bottle was distributed by the J. F. Hartz company.
Provenance Manufactured by the Dr. G. Grubler and Dr. Hollborn chemical laboratory at Leipzig, Germany.

Belonged to Dr. Leroy (Roy) Sutherland, an Owen Sound doctor. Last owned by his son, Dr. Donald Sutherland of Toronto, Ontario.
