|Description||One pair of child's lace-up boots. Toe and heel are black leather and uppers are velvet. White leather and white cotton interiors. There are brown laces, which thread through the fourteen white grommettes of each boot. The black painted soles are flat. There is no maker's identification.|
The previous owner was Maggie Beckett (nee Cook) of Keady. She had a connection to the Keady area of Grey County, Ontario. She married Grant Beckett in 1926. She died in July of 1982. She had a twin sister. Maggie was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Cook.

According to her birth record, Maggie Olive Cook, and her twin sister, Minnie Lora Cook, were born on November 21, 1902. Their parents were Wilfred Cook and the former, Catherine Black. In the 1911 census, the twins were 7 years of age. Their father was then 44 and their mother was 39 (b. 1872). The Wilfred Cook family resided at Lot 3, Concession 8, Derby Township in 1911. The twins had a younger brother, Wilmer B. Cook, who was 4 years of age in 1911.
