|Description||Buckle-on tire chain, chipping green paint finish on the metal components. Leather strap, 2.5 cm wide. One of these was used per car wheel. Consists of a leather strap, a metal crossbar attaching to the two chains and to the strap. Another metal cross bar, which is attached to the chains and to a buckle. The chains are rusty. The paint is chipped.|
Owned by and used at the Dornoch, Grey County garage owned by J. Leonard Walsh. J. Leonard Walsh operated his garage at Dornoch, Ontario in the 1930s and 1940s. He was an Imperial Oil representative, starting in the 1920s.
Passed to his nephew, Patrick Sweeney, who used to assist his uncle in the garage.
