Description Black silk, hip-length, long-sleeved bodice with two vertical bands (one on either lapel) running from collar to hem and around collar with black velvet fringe attached. Eleven cloth-covered buttons with glass-bead centres on right lapel. Buttons are for decorative purposes only as the opening is fastened with 12 hook and eye closures.
Provenance Unknown. Last owned by Mrs. O. J. (Curley) Wade, of Leith, in Sydenham Township, Grey County. She suggested to museum staff that it dates to about 1883.
