Maker unknown. Worn by Hazel C. Christie (neé Christie) as a baby, circa 1896. She resided in Owen Sound, Grey County.
Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Burke. The Burkes were married at Tara, Bruce County, on March 4, 1896. They later lived on 14th St. West, Owen Sound, for many years (early 1900s to mid-1900s).
Eliza Burke was born on July 26, 1869. Her husband John Burke, b. Feb. 6, 1873, was a "Joiner". They were listed in the 1901 census of Owen Sound, but the census-taker mis-spelt their surname as "Burk". At that time, Hazel was age 4, and she had a little brother, Harold J.S. Burke.
