A wooden tennis racket (racquet). The head is steam-bent wood and strung with gut. Where the two sides merge together there is a flat, slotted screw head. A contrasting wooden, fan-shaped insert piece is present in this area as well. There is a red-painted area and then an octagonally-shaped medium-brown colour handle. The end of the handle has an affixed strip of leather. No maker's identification or logos observed.
The age and provenance is unknown. It is very likely an early 20th-century item. It was owned by someone in the Petty family of Holstein, Grey County.
It was last owned by Jim Petty of Riverview, New Brunswick.
