Description This medallion commemorates Queen Victoria's long reign in 1897. She ascended the throne of Britain in 1837 and was coronated in 1838. The medal has a leftwards bust of the Queen. The top arm of the somewhat cross-like perimeter has "AUSTRALIA", the left arm has "INDIA", the bottom arm has "SOUTH AFRICA" and the right side has "CANADA". These countries were part of the British Empire. "THE LONGEST REIGN IN ENGLISH HISTORY 1837-1897"
