Souvenir cane (swagger stick). The cane is crooked, burled, bumpy, varnished and made of light and dark wood with a swirled grain. There is an alligator carved into one side of the shaft closer to the top. The reptile's tail points downward and his snout points upward toward one's hand.
Manufacturer unknown, but made in Florida. Unknown in what year it was brought to Canada.
Last owned by Kate Andrew (1872-1971) who spent much of her life in Owen Sound, Grey County.
