Description Child's white, eyelet lace-trimmed pantalettes (pantaloons). Someone added "No 101" in red thread at one end of the waistband. The inner waistband has the name "A Watney" neatly inscribed in ink. The front and back of the waistband each have a vertical buttonholed slit. The two sides of the waistband have horizontal buttonholes, but no fasteners.The pantaloons are slightly gathered into the waistband. It has a closed bottom. The Ayrshire work (white-embroidered eyelet lace) is 4 cm long and flares out.
Provenance Unknown. The original owner of these inscribed the inside of the waistband with "A. Watney b. bb." Who she was and where she lived is unknown.
