Surveyor's hand-held LUFKIN measuring tape wind-up reel. 100 ft. of steel tape. There is a wooden grip handle that is 11 cm long. The cross-like reel is 14.5 cm wide. The diameter of the tape when completely wound up is 11.5 cm. There is a folding, silvertone plated winding handle. The whole thing is about 25.5 cm long. Impressed maker's mark includes "PAT NO. 2,005850".

Manufactured in Saginaw, Michigan by The Lufkin Rule Co. Belonged to John MacDonald Blyth (1887-1959), Land Surveyor who originated from Grey County and later retired here.
Next belonged to James Peters [d. circa 2002], who willed it to the museum, as per the instructions of John MacDonald Blyth's will.
