Description Horseshoe spreader tool? This unusual-looking tool is an all-metal item, with a u-shaped metal area that is hinged? with a circular brass fulcrum? area. The outer sides of the U-shape have intentional rectangular recesses. There is a threaded post that is hand-tightened to spread the tool. The top of the post has a faceted metal head with a hole in it that holds a bent, knobbed rod for moving the post. There is no maker's identification present.
