Description |
Upright, floor model "Imperial" gramophone made by the National Table Company of Owen Sound. The wooden cabinet for the disc-record playing phonograph is finished with dark brown. There is a fretwork area at the front, that likely once had a fabric grille behind it. Below this are hinged doors, that open to a record storage area, with five wooden shelves (each with a central u-shape cut, to make it easier to pull out the records in their storage boxes/sleeves). Green felt pads the top of the turntable. There is a "SURE STOP" hardware piece (its patent was applied for), and there is also a Slow/Fast dial and indicator. A silvertone brace arm at the left can be moved into position to hold the lid up when required. |
