Description |
One teacup (a) and saucer (b). They have a black background decorated with multi-coloured painted flowers and leaves. The saucer also has a colourful bird on the right side. On the left there is a circle with a lip for the cup to sit in and not move around. The plate is an unusual shape, is it a special kind of saucer [designed to hold a person's sandwich or piece of cake as he or she has his or her tea]? The plates edges are scalloped. There is no maker's mark present. a- Cup, b- Saucer. |

Owned/used by Mr. and Mrs. John Young. Mrs. Young (neé Stewart) passed away in 1943 at the age of 89 years. Last owned by Emily S. Young, one of their daughters. Emily and her sister, Helen Young, resided at 1290 4th Ave. East, Owen Sound for many years. |
