The original owners of the Doherty organ at the Grey Roots Museum were John Nigh and his wife, Ida Nigh (nee Stephens). They lived at Strathaven, Grey County, on the Sydenham Township side of the town line. Their daughter Elva Brown lived four miles west of Bognor, in Sydenham Township with her husband Elmer Brown. Elva was a Women's Institute member. |
