Thomas Young was from Sydenham Township, Grey County. In 1895, he married Janet (Jessie) Ferguson.

In 1892, when his mother passed away, Thomas was a resident of Lot West Half of 2, Concession 9, Sydenham.

In the 1901 census of Sydenham, Thomas was 30 years old, born Sept. 27, 1870. His wife Jessie was 31 (b. Aug. 19, 1869). Their household included their daughter Maggie M. Young (Sept. 6, 1896), son John F. Young (b. July 15, 1898), son Robert Young (b. Dec. 31, 1900), and Thomas Young Sr. (b. June 17, 1828 in Scotland, age 72).

In 1909, the elder Thomas Young passed away.
