The wooden photograph frame has wooden-beaded decoration, and a brown colouration, and a convex oval glass. This early 20th-century photograph was taken of Mrs. Elizabetha Ruppenthal (neé Schwab), a farm wife of Normanby Township, Grey County. |

The item was formerly owned by Caroline and John Miller. The Millers lived in a farm house south of Hanover, Normanby Township, Grey County. The previous owner, Mrs. Dorothy Miller (neé Miller), was married to Edwin Miller, a brother of the last two occupants of the Miller farmhouse. They were twin brothers, Noah and Aaron Miller. The woman shown in the photograph was their maternal grandmother, Elizabetha Ruppenthal (nee Schwab), who was born in 1842 and died in 1923. |
