Provenance |
This photo of Edna Mary Burr (née Wilson) belonged to her husband, Harold Harrison Burr who had it with him overseas when he served in World War II. It was returned to Edna within a suitcase after he was killed overseas by friendly fire in a training excercise on August 8, 1944. She subsequently put the suitcase and contents in her attic and it was found by her daughter (by second marriage), while cleaning out the house after her death. |
