Description |
A cream-coloured crepe sleeveless nightdress, decorated with vertical tucks and rosepoint lace, and personalized with an embroidered blue initial (monogram). It has deep points at its hem area. Handmade by/belonged to Katharine Crawford Frizzell, a schoolteacher from Bognor, Sydenham Township, Grey County. She married Reverend Stuart Henry Brownlee at St. George's Anglican Church, in Owen Sound, Grey County, on August 14, 1929, at twelve o'clock (noon). It was one of her trousseau items. The Brownlees resided at Kerrwood, Ontario. Around 1963, Katharine Brownlee worked in Huron County. The item was passed on to her son, John S. Brownlee, QC., who kept it in Calgary, Alberta. It was sent back to Grey County in January, 2017. |
