Description |
This is an advertising give-away blotter from the Richardson, Bond & Wright printing company in Owen Sound, Ont. The top half of the front of the blotter is yellow in colour and the bottom half is a light tan colour. The top half has brown lettering on it as follows: "The Plant Philosopher Ponders Every time one man puts a new idea across he finds ten men who thought of it before he did, but ... they only thought of it..." On the bottom half is printed : "RICHARDSON, BOND & WRIGHT, LIMITED / LITHOGRAPHERS - PRINTERS - BOOKBINDERS / OWEN SOUND / 850 / MONTREAL, MA. 1760 TORONTO, WA. 2087 WINNIPEG, 80 780 / "Originators in PHOTO-REPRO" The blank backside was used and now it has a large number of ink marks from blotting documents. |

The telephone number printed on it pre-dates 1965. Made in Owen Sound by Richardson, Bond and Wrigth Printers. Obtained by Herb Miller at some point. He was a sawmill business owner in Bentinck Township who also did business in Owen Sound. |
