Description |
Ribbon badge. It has a rectangular top pin with "L.O.B.A." and a red motif in the center. It is made of goldtone metal and celluloid, or transparent enamel coating on lithography. There is a pendant orange ribbon with appliqued, crossed flags set above a beaver. Below this is a round, yellow, black and red "LADIES' ORANGE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION" button. Below, gold-printed on the red foundation ribbon, is the lettering: "LADY DERRY / LODGE NO. 1109/ L.O.B.A. / GORING, ONT." The reversible ribbon badge is a parade regalia item, the black and silver side of which would be displayed at funerals. The bottom of the badge has a silky, gold-coloured fringe, and the sides also have a matching finish. The pin back has a safety pin-style fastener. No maker's name observed. |
