Round ceramic plate with a fluted rim and gold edging. It is screen printed with brown transfer print of a small Gothic church with a front addition and bushes along the side. Under the illustration is printed "Cooke's Presbyterian Church / Markdale, Ontario / 1882 - 1972." On the back in gold is a maple leaf with "Decorated in Canada" and under it "22 K Gold / Can. Art China / Collingwood, Ont." |

Made by Canadian Art China Co. of Collingwood, Simcoe County and custom printed for Cooke's Presbyterian Church of Markdale for their nintieth anniversary in 1972. Likely had belonged to a long term care resident as it was found at Grey Gables Long Term Care Home in February, 2022, in their "Heritage Room" where items from the Grey County House of Refuge and after, were stored for many years. |
