Description |
Medicine bottle from Parker & Co. It is made of clear pressed glass and has"PARKER & CO / CHEMISTS / OWEN SOUND." in emboss-style lettering. It is clean and once took a cork. It has a few bubbles in the glass and a small chip in the rim. |
Provenance |
Likely dates from the 1890s or early 20th-century. The Parker & Co. drugstore business began in Owen Sound in the 1850s under the name of Parker & Cattle. It had a long history (and its store locations changed). Owen Sound did not have a bottle glass factory, so the bottle must have been custom-made for the drugstore at another locale. Unknown provenance. Last owned by Mark Clement of Owen Sound, Grey County. |
