147 maple leaf shaped collar badge. Gold tone with split pin extant. There is a circle in the centre of the badge with a 147 inside, GREY above and CANADA below. On top of the circle is a crown. |

Probably belonged to/issued to John Wesley Ritchie of Berkeley, Grey County, who served overseas during the First World War, originally with the 147th Grey (Overseas) Battalion (created in 1915), which was disbanded and drafted into other units that needed reinforcements after they reached England. Subsequently owned by his wife, May Ritchie. |
