Description |
Glazed ceramic jar with a cylindrical, beige body. Its top quarter is mustard-yellow, and its mouth is threaded on the inside. Its stopper is missing. Around the shoulder, before it tapers toward the mouth, the jar has a decorative, indented band. Inside the band are small, raised circles, whose surfaces are parallel to the surface of the jar. The "SKEY 13 TAMWORTH" maker's mark is imprinted in an oval on its bottom. |

Manufactured by George Skey & Co. Limited, in England. Likely dates to the early 20th-century. It likely belonged to Robert and Ethel Winch, who lived on a farm on RR#1 Chatsworth (south of Williamsford) in Holland Township, Grey County. It was last owned by the family of Walter and Mary Winch, who moved to Owen Sound, Grey County. It was found among other items in their Estate. |
