Small white ribbon with a Red Cross symbol and "Poster Show / Nov 10 to 12 /1904" printed in red. There are two horizontal lines at the top above the cross and two of the same below the date. |

Unknown. May have been worn in 1904 by May Spragge (neé Barnhart) of Owen Sound, Grey County. In 1904, fund-raising was underway to raise funds for the General & Marine Hospital at Owen Sound, Ontario, and a "Poster Show" was put on. This ribbon badge would have been worn by one of the female volunteers working on this project. Last owned by her daughters, Marjorie and Doris Spragge. Found amongst their estate items. Their father was John George Spragge, an Owen Sound grocer. It was likely printed by a local job printer. |
